Israeli Regional Empire and US Global Empire Spiral Downwards – Genocide Blog no. 73

10.07.2025

Since this 642-day Israeli genocidal onslaught began against the Palestinians living in Gaza, LALIT has acted, its members have acted and, with other organizations, here and world-wide, we have collectively acted, in every way we could, to put a stop to it. And put a stop to it, we will. The two empires – Israel a regional one, and the USA, the global hegemon – are both in free fall. Their reputations are in tatters. Their word is worthless. They are exposed now as the rapacious, colonial tyrants they always were, under a veneer of “civilization”. Their most vicious actions, however, are still to come, as they go into their violent death throes as empires. Their barbarism will know no bounds.

On Day 32 of this present phase of the Israeli genocide, that was on 9 November 2023, we published our first genocide Blog as one of our many actions*. The aim of the Blog was to help see us all through the night, as it were, this long night of diurnal darkness we must behold, day after day. The pain of it, the strain of it, of just seeing and hearing the suffering, day after day, of the Palestinian families, who are murdered by, or who survive, this historically willed domination perpetrated by the Western empires of Britain and the USA by means of their State of Israel “stooge”.

A team of six of us, Ram Seegobin, Ragini Kistnasamy, Cindy Clelie, Rada Kistnasamy, Alain Ah Vee and I, prepare the Genocide Blog together for LALIT’s readers by sharing the facts, analyses and ideas, by fact-checking them, coming up with a first draft, then checking and editing it, up-loading and translating it and then re-checking the translation. It is collective work. And we agreed that I sign it so as to give me the individual freedom that is necessary to draft such painful emotional content more easily, while I sign in the name of LALIT because the Blog as a whole is a collective creation.

So, LALIT has published this “Genocide Blog” on average once every 10 appalling days since then.

We have noted the key moments of the depraved degradation of the Israeli war crimes – corralling people like animals, the using of the very wording of international law as a pathetic, insane attempt to better slaughter civilians, the inflicting of systematic torture and intentional cruelty on babies, the aged and infirm alike, the journalists who report on what they see through the dust and poisoned air, and what they hear above the sound of the constant buzzing, like filthy flies, of the Israeli war drones overhead, now spying, now killing. And they murder those already confined to hospital wards and their medical carers – two categories protected by multilateral Treaties from the very earliest “international law”, the First Geneva Convention of 1864.

And as we write now, the tide turns against the two empires:

1. Francesca Albanese Report

The Francesca Albanese Report is out. Tasked with studying the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, the Special Rapporteur presented her Report entitled, “From Economy of Occupation to Economy of Genocide” at the Human Rights Council last week. It is a frontal attack on the profit-making private companies that feed off, and in turn drive, first the occupation of Palestine and then the genocide. She names as predators some of the private weapons and technology companies responsible under international law for the genocide and for crimes against humanity. Shock waves are so strong from this brave woman’s Report that US President Donald Trump has immediately, like the dictator he is, slapped sanctions on her, even blocking her travel to the USA! Her brilliantly precise 39-page Report was announced as Trump was dining with wanted war criminal, himself, Prime Minister Netanyahu, at the White House. The Report really is compulsory reading. It is reproduced on our website lalitmauritius.org in the “Documents” Section”, for easy access. It is less than that number of pages, because there are extensive, meticulously researched, footnotes included.

She calls for the following action from Member States of the UN, like the Republic of Mauritius:

(i) To impose sanctions and a full arms embargo on Israel, including all existing agreements and dual-use items such as technology and civilian heavy machinery;

(ii) To suspend/prevent all trade agreements and investment relations, – and impose sanctions, including asset freezes, on entities and individuals involved in activities that may endanger the Palestinians;

(iii) To enforce accountability, ensuring that corporate entities face legal consequences for their involvement in serious violations of international law.

She calls for companies and other corporate entities:

(i) To promptly cease all business activities and terminate relationships directly linked with, contributing to and causing human rights violations and international crimes against the Palestinian people, in accordance with international corporate responsibilities and the law of self-determination;

(ii) To pay reparations to the Palestinian people, including in the form of an apartheid wealth tax along the lines of post-Apartheid South Africa.

Ms Albanese calls on the International Criminal Court and national judiciaries to investigate and prosecute corporate executives and/or corporate entities for their part in the commission of international crimes and laundering of the proceeds from those crimes.

And finally, she calls on the UN

(i)  To comply with the International Court of Justice Advisory Opinion of 2024;

(ii) To include all entities involved in Israeli unlawful occupation in the United Nations database (to be accessible on the OHCHR website.)

She also calls on people active in politics like us in LALIT as well as “trade unions, lawyers, civil society and ordinary citizens to press for boycotts, divestments, sanctions, justice for Palestine and accountability at international and domestic levels; together we can end these unspeakable crimes.” This is what we are doing right now in Mauritius, and, in LALIT, have been doing for over 45 years.

2. Financial Times Exposes Boston Consulting Group involvement in Genocide

At the same time as Ms Albanese’s Report, a business conspiracy to steal Gaza for real estate development has been exposed by a British newspaper. This has caused generalized panic of the sauve-qui-peut type.

The Financial Times last Friday reported that one of the three biggest consultancy firms in the world, the Boston Consulting Group(BSG) had been hired for some $4 million to help conceptualize and set up the notoriously shady supposed Gaza “Humanitarian” Foundation (GHF) backed by the Israeli and US governments, as part of the overall strategic plan to expel Palestinians from Gaza, and to set up the so-called “Trump Riviera” and a kind of “free zone” for factories later labeled “Elon Musk industrial Park”  once Palestinians who have not been forced to “relocate” will have been herded into a tiny part of the South of Gaza, “concentrated” literally into a single “camp”. This would presumably free up the rest of Gaza for Israeli annexation. Anyway the plan has blown up in the faces of the BCG.

We have all had to watch on our screens the 700 Palestinians murdered while trying to get aid packages from the GHF distribution centres that operate like “human rat-traps”. Now, when we realize it was part of vast strategically planned international Machiavellian plot all along, the horror we feel is greater.

The Financial Times also reports the involvement in this Machiavellian plan of the Tony Blair Institute (TBI), an outfit with 900 staff, run by the former British Prime Minister notorious for having lied about “weapons of mass destruction” in Iraq, and funded also by the US State Department, itself, as well as by individual billionaires like Larry Ellison who is a super-funder of the Israel lobby. This TBI outfit participated in the hideous BCG modeling plan for how to replace the Palestinians in Gaza. Blair denied it, but then, when there was audio proof, he said the contribution was unofficial.

Official or unofficial, this has led the British Parliament to set up a Committee yesterday to look into any role of any British entities, meaning Blair’s outfit, in this plan. The arm of international law is extending.

Meanwhile, the Boston Consulting Group, itself, has both denied being involved and said some of its top executives were involved. But, the Group said, they were involved in their own personal names, and, in any case, two of the firm’s former partners have been fired for this “unauthorised work” anyway, which “reflected a serious failure of judgment and adherence to our standards”. They also pretended for a while that the work was done free of charge, pro bono, and then, when there was proof to the contrary, the sum of millions of dollars has been leaked. They had, in any case, the Washington Post reported, abandoned work with the GHF last month. So, the BCG has a shifting story, as they try to worm out of their guilt. Ms. Albanese means exactly this kind of war crime by the private sector must be charged by the International Criminal Court, as well as the State that condones it happening on its territory.

A set of “slides” has already been developed based on the BCG model. The Guardian says it was prepared by “Israeli business people using BCG’s financial models and was said to have proposed paying half a million Palestinians to leave the area. The slides reportedly outlined a plan called the ‘Great Trust’ and was shared with the Trump administration. It envisaged that private investors would have been attracted to Gaza once many of the inhabitants had been paid to leave. The plan outlined in the slides was reported to have been created to attract Trump’s attention and that of wealthy Gulf rulers. Among 10 ‘mega projects’, the document includes the ‘MBS Ring’ and ‘MBZ Central’ highways – named after the leaders of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates – and an ‘Elon Musk smart manufacturing zone’.”

3. Now All Polls show majority of Americans No longer have favourable View of Israel

This year a number of opinion polls in the USA, which is Israel’s enabler and funder of, advisor for, and geo-political cover for the genocide, show that most Americans now no longer hold a “favourable” opinion of Israel. This is new. The trend is due to worsen for Israel because of the genocide continuing. Younger people know what is happening, and have escaped from the ideological stronghold of the mainstream political parties and media. (A Gallup poll as well as Pew and also Quinnipiac polls all show this tendency.)

4. Pro-Palestinian elected to Represent Democratic Party for Mayor of New York City

The candidate for Mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, who unexpectedly won the primary election is openly and proudly pro-Palestine, and yet was elected in New York City, a bastion of traditional Zionism, and he will be running against the Republicans and renegade Democrat, Andrew Cuomo.

5. Britain Panics, Outlaws Peaceful resistance group Palestine Action calling it “terrorist”

An 83-year old lady pastor the Reverend Sue Parfitt was amongst the 20 people first arrested in Britain after giving verbal support to “Palestine Action” once it had been made illegal by law to express words of support for the organization now declared “terrorist”. This law is madness. It betrays the way the USA-Israel empire in its downward spiral draws in all its allies, like the British for a start. Palestine Action members have not been found guilty of any kind of terror. They have only ever painted slogans on war-planes and attacked the weapons, the very objects used in what is known to be genocide against the Palestinians. They have, in doing this, respected the international law, as interpreted by the ICJ judges in their Preliminary findings in South Africa’s case against Israel for genocide.

This is not the only madness.

The USA’s series of “tariff” edicts, each more contradictory than the last, are positively bizarre. The USA using masked men to attack and expel anyone suspected of being an immigrant without the correct papers, is also sheer madness. The USA’s endless application of “sanctions” against anyone it does not agree with, is also madness. And as for putting sanctions on a UN Special Rapporteur because the message she carries to the world’s public is so truthful, this is really madness.

But, the worst of all, is the USA-Israeli destruction of Middle East and North African countries that Israel “needs” destroyed: The list of seven countries set out in 2001, and made known in 2003, were Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Lebanon, Syria and Iran. Only Iran stands firm now. And the sins of these seven countries were a refusal to bow down to Israel and to the USA. That is the sin of the Palestinian people, too. They have born the brunt of this mad, falling set of empires. The Palestinians refuse to give up their struggle to remain in their own country, on their own land. They are an inspiration to the people of the world. And the young people of the world are already inspired by the Palestinians.

Tomorrow Friday, we will be able to hear live-and-direct the testimony of three Mauritians, three LALIT members, who went on the Global March to Gaza, Alain Ah Vee, Ragini Kistnasamy and Ally Hosenbokus. They were inspired by the people of Palestine, and they, by their active support, in turn inspire us. Don’t miss it. Reeaz Chuttoo will preside for the 20 organizations holding the event (** see list below). It will be held at the Municipality of Port Louis Municipal Chamber at 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Friday 11 July, in the midst of all these world-shattering changes, as the empires fall.
