The Terrible Ending Nears – Genocide Blog 68

03.05.2025

Everything indicates we are nearing the terrible end-phase of the genocide Israel is perpetrating against the Palestinians.

Israel now starves the people of Gaza to death. Not just bombs them and their entire society to smithereens.

The USA is one of just two countries that support Israel at the ICJ this past week, where Israel is accused of preventing aid from reaching the two million Palestinians in Gaza. 39 countries* give oral submissions and 4 international organizations do, against Israel’s barring all aid to Gaza.

Israel bombs a ship on its way to take food to Gaza. Israel now still bombs Beirut and South Lebanon, defying all law and morality. Israel now bombs Damascus and other parts of Syria, this, too, both a distraction and a show of force. Israel persists in its provocation towards war between the USA and Iran, abetted by the USA’s Zionist lobby. Israel, itself, now implodes into near civil war. The Prime Minister Netanyahu fires his head of Security. Citizens flee. Israel’s economy is bust. Israel’s reputation is nul. Israel’s future as a State is gone, destroyed by its own demoniac actions against an entire occupied people.

Israel’s self-destruction draws the USA into a faster spiral of a falling empire.

President Trump usurps Congress’s power to impose taxes, and like the Queen in Alice in Wonderland, does any-old-which thing with tariffs. He declares a state of emergency illegally. He defies the judiciary, as he deports anyone he wants to into any country he can get to take them. He attacks the free speech supposedly guaranteed by the First Amendment of the US Constitution. He attacks academic freedom, threatens defunding universities that do not let him decide what to teach, and who is to teach it. He has fired or otherwise pushed out 260,000 civil servants, Reuters announced yesterday. He has shut down whole Ministries. In front of the whole world, Trump prepares for rule as a dictator, as a despot.

And Donald Trump, once finally interdicted by all the habitually obsequious Arab dictatorships from using his USA military bases on their land because they cannot risk being overthrown by their people if they support the Israel-USA alliance this way in the very moment that it is perpetrating a genocide on the Palestinians, now gathers B-2 stealth bombers on part of our land, on part of our country, on part of the Republic of Mauritius. We are thus now taking the side of the perpetrators. We are right now compromising ourselves, politically, militarily and morally.

The Mauritian Government must speak out against the use of Diego Garcia for B-2 stealth bombers’ aggression. This is military aggression intended to be perpetrated thousands of miles from the USA’s territory. It is intended for aggression against Iran, or for more aggression against Yemen, or both.

The Ramgoolam Government must join the South African ICJ case against Israel for genocide at once, and mobilize all African countries to do the same. Ramgoolam must take a lead in the world, a lead against the genocide.

And we, the people, in all our organizations, as workers, women, musicians, sportspeople, young people must work out ways of rallying mass support in Mauritius to end the genocide at once and to close down the military base on Diego Garcia, thus helping to not just save the brave and gentle people of Palestine, but also contribute to ending the decades of domination, expulsion, occupation and Apartheid that have accompanied the Israeli genocide.

* In all 39 States and four international organizations, including the African union that Mauritius is a member of, presented oral statements  denouncing the Israeli blockade on Gaza. They are the United Nations; Palestine; Egypt; Malaysia; South Africa; Algeria; Saudi Arabia; Belgium; Colombia; Bolivia; Brazil; Chile; Spain; the Russian Federation; France; Indonesia; Türkiye; Iran; Jordan; Kuwait; Luxembourg; Maldives; Mexico; Namibia; Norway; Pakistan; Panama; Poland; Qatar; the United Kingdom; China; Senegal; Slovenia; Sudan; Switzerland; Comoros; Tunisia; Vanuatu; the League of Arab States; the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation; and the African union.” Only two countries supported the Israeli blockade on food and medicine and energy into Gaza: the USA and Hungary. And the Republic of Mauritius is absent from the list of those speaking up, as a nation against genocide.
