When Empires Collapse the Things You Hear

As the USA’s empire begins its slow process of collapsing, we have to hear the strangest things said:
1. The USA President Biden, through his two main Ministers, Secretaries Blinken and Austen, and his UN representative, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield, warned Israel that it would cut arms to Israel if Israel did not let in food and allow all humanitarian necessities, including shelter during winter, and stop its siege within a siege in Northern Gaza – to mention just a few of the new conditions the USA on Monday imposed. The USA, to signal its low moral ground, gave the reason as, and to summarize, so as not to go against two USA laws that stipulate that the US cannot supply arms to those who stop its humanitarian aid reaching its destiny. If it were not against the law, it is implied, they would supply the arms. There is no moral or political stand taken against Israel’s genocide. So, Biden’s administration will withhold arms on the grounds, only, of it being in breach of a law. We have to read this kind of letter to Netanyahu.
Let us think what this means: It means: “we, the USA, insist that Israel give food and water, medicine and shelter to everyone in Gaza, men, women and children, so that they will live another day so as to be bombed by the very armaments we supply and will continue to supply to you to kill them with.”
Just think about that. Just think about having to absorb this when you watch your television, your computer screen or read something the Washington Post refers you to on X.
2. USA has just delivered its brand news armaments, presumably for testing, to Israel, the THAAD system for aerial defense. Together with this it has delivered 100 soldiers to man the system inside Israel. This, of course, makes the USA all the more a partner-in-crime with Israel than it already is. These weapons will be used by Israel against Iran. So, the war, the regional conflagration, that so many American leaders are cheerleading for gets nearer. Israel sits with its nuclear bombs (bombs that the USA pretends it does not have, because otherwise if it accepts the truth, it would be illegal, similarly to in the first example in this article, by USA law to arm Israel at all. Anyway, what do Biden and Co. say to justify these boots on the ground, and armaments, these massive military “gifts” to Israel?
Its argument is that these are “defensive weapons”, not “offensive”. But, let us examine the reality.
Let us think what this means:
Israel is conducting genocide. The ICJ and every other expert in the world says this is a plausible statement, or, more reasonably, just the plain truth in ordinary English. Iran is a State that is against this genocide. So, Israel attacks Iran in the most unlawful and unbelievable ways: First, Israel in April bombed and destroyed an Iranian embassy building Damascus in Syria, assassinating (amongst others considered by Israel to be mere “collateral damage”) Iranian Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Everything about this is illegal. It is an act of war to target Embassy or consular buildings. Under international law, it is patently unlawful to go assassinate people outside your country. So, Israel attacks however it wishes. The USA aquiesces.
Second, Israel assassinates a Guest of Honour, who also happens to be the very man who is negotiator for the Israeli-Palestinian talks that were ongoing, present in Tehran, Iran’s capital, for the Inauguration Ceremony of a new President Masoud Pezeshkian.[Hamas top political leader (as opposed to military leader), Ismael Haniyeh. Israel killed him, as well as killing some others, like staff at the official guest house, we have to hear this hideous expression “collateral damage” for “killing civilians”, again. Under international law, it is patently unlawful to go assassinate people outside your country, as we have said, and under ordinary human decency, a country does not kill someone, the chief negotiator, that it is, itself, negotiating with. It is less than ordinary human decency by a long shot. So, Israel attacks however it wishes, whoever it wishes, wherever it wishes. The USA aquiesces.
Then, the USA provides Israel with “defense” systems and 100 US armed forces, boots on the Israeli ground. Just in case Iran does something similar to what Israel does.
What this means is the “defensive weapons” the USA supplies Israel with provide the impunity that Israel enjoys, and can attack whoever it pleases, whenever and however, because Israel’s victim country cannot effectively respond. What this means is Israel can act with impunity in its “offensive strikes”, impunity guaranteed by Joe Biden, Anthony Blinken and Lloyd Austen. So “defensive” is in fact a carte blanche for “offensive”. This is what we have to listen to.
What kind of morality is that for the USA, that empire so narcissist in its crumbling that it pretends to have “full spectrum” dominance over the whole world, while also being ever-so benevolent? So, benevolent comes to mean malevolent.
When Iran responded to the first attack, it responded, by the way, against a purely military target in Israel.
